- Develop a web-based chemical label system
- Present label as QR code. On scanning the QR code show Info about chemical, Chemical Shelf life, Test Info, and Handling Instruction.
- Develop a unique tracking code for each chemical produced as Batch
Solution:
- Develop a simple ERP software recording material purchase, production, storing, testing, dispatch
- Develop unique code for Material, Production, and Testing
- Develop Role-based access for staff, managers, and admin.
- Develop simple web-based UI for QR code generation
- Develop API to help mobile apps and other software read the QR code
- Develop a mobile app to scan the QR code and display the chemical information
- Develop an interface to connect with third-party testing labs and get test info automatically
- Develop a mechanism to track and store the chemical shelf life
- Develop a mechanism to generate warnings and notifications when the shelf life is near
- Develop a mechanism to store handling instructions and precautions to be taken while using hazardous chemicals.
Conclusion:
The chemical label generation software developed for the Indian company handling hazardous chemicals successfully met all the requirements of the scope. The software had a simple ERP to record material purchase, production, storage, testing, and dispatch. It also had a simple web-based UI for QR code generation, an API to help mobile apps and other software read the QR code, a mobile app to scan the QR code and display the chemical information, an interface to connect with third-party testing labs to get test info automatically, a mechanism to track and store the chemical shelf life, a mechanism to generate warnings and notification when the shelf life is near, and a mechanism to store handling instruction and precaution to be taken while using hazardous chemicals. All of these features and functions were successful in meeting the scope of the project.
