However, whereas UI designers are in charge of determining how the user interface will look, UX designers are in charge of determining how the user interface will function.

UI and UX design require very different skill sets, but they are both essential to the success of the other. To create an excellent user interface/experience, both UI and UX designs must be flawlessly executed and perfectly aligned with pre-existing user expectations.
